My speedo isnt working

hi, my speedo isnt working at the moment, hasnt been since i fitted an amp and sub into it, however the bonus is, my miles do not move, what will happen when i come to service or m.o.t the car? will it say on the diagnostics that its been clocked back or something, it wasnt intentional but i am brickin it cos my service is only round the corner, and i may get done for trying to clock it back when really this was the last thing on my mind :S

please help lol

It is illegal to not have a speedo working :nono: but it is unlikely that it will be picked up in an MOT Test as it is not actually tested! :S

Not talking from experience though (Maybe my old 19 16v many many years ago... about a £90 part from Renault was just too expensive)

well, it is kind of difficult as there are loads of speed cameras around sunny southport, but i bort a Talex Lite, and they hav gps speed, so i kinda manage with that so i havnt done too bad, just brickin it to be honest lol

i have been told on numerous occasions, that the miles will be reset when plugged into the diagnostics, but i must admit all this wasnt intentional, just wanted a banging system lol, (i am not a chav by the way) but i suppose it has been like this for 4 months now lol

Does it just not move at all?

Have you tried unplugging all the audio stuff to see if it works then?

Dont worry about it.Drive it everywhere and have 6 months free motoring and then connect it back up

it may be that you have blown a fuse in the fuse box when wiring up sub and amp. check all the fuses as some do several different things. or maybe that the cable has snapped. thats if mk2s are cable my mk1 is. lol at least you are not clocking up any miles.

If your speedo sensor is faulty, the miles counter won't move.
Change the Speedo sensor will solve the problem.
