Just over a year ago I passed my test!
So i went straight on to ebay to find a cheap Clio
This is what i found!
J plate mk1 ph1 1.8 RT (SPI F3P engine - 95bhp)
RSi spec (rear discs etc...)
Then I set about wasting my student loan on it
Fixed all the little electrical faults (and there were lots! ) and put everything back to standard
I changed bumpers for a set of colour coded RT ones (like it was meant to have)
995 Jade green isnt exactly a common colour, so had to spray em myself
had a small bump in bristol :/ damn lanes.
Found out halfords can't colour match for s**t
introduced the clio to dartmoor
mmm.. hubcaps
so, I got an old set of turbines... not curbed, but the lacquer was so old they wouldn't seal.
pumped them up and quickly took some pics
then i set about using the nice summer weeks to refurb them myself
the result was OK, but never again! they're hard enough to clean, let alone strip!
Cosmetically she was finished. was going to lower it next.
First though, the mounts needed changing
After many hours swearing at the dogbone mount bolt, it was done! (big thanks to my brother for his help (he did most of it ))
but then a chav on a moped drove in to me. and ran off. thanks
claim still ongoing... incase the moped rider comes forward So my ncb is tied up in that policy!!
So once again, i fixed the little clio....
... and bought a valver too!
A nice Clio Mondeo Clio Mondeo thing going on
So then I sold the RT . Was quite sad as she left, my first car . Later found she failed her MOT but seems the new owners have put a lot of effort in to her and i think shes up and running again!!
Then the Valver broke (as they do)
RAC man told me that the head gasket had gone. I went on to CS to check. Danlp kindly helped out, informing me that the RAC man knew sod all . The rocker cover gasket had failed, flooding the core plugs with oil and it shook the starter motor loose. £25 and an afternoon later she was back to full health!
changed that door due to the dents and the rotting at the bottom
Next I got some white willy wheels (off Middo)
she made friends!
Came home from lectures one day to find a 4x4 had reversed in to me, thanks.
then i crashed the valver
Spun it on a country lane - lift off oversteer - bounced off two banks, think i got away very lightly!!
Bent the subframe and took a chunk out of the new wheel
ClarkieV6 and Danlp fixed her for me cheers guys - also got 4x new tyres and a 102k service!
Next day i got the valver RR'd
143bhp! nice!
then following day, introduced valver to airfield
Repaired the body damage (new set of bumpers, £30)
Got a baby valver!!
Got my williams wheel welded (still needed to be re powder coated though)
and a nice shot to finish off the year (and a bit) taken earlier this evening !
