my yellow 182 stolen.....RECOVERED but...

as some of you well know i came on here to say my yellow 182 was stolen of my drive way on the 11th march,

anyway i have been through a very long process with the insurance company and renault and have only just recieved my lump sum for loss of my vehicle. now my cheque has only just cleared this morning,

but... last night the warwickshire police rang to say my car had been found in the bromford area of birmingham and was now at recovery impound, i must say im glad that i finally know where it is to put my mind at peace,i rang the garage up and the wheels had been sold off and rear window smashed aswell as all the panels scratched and dented all round car!

now the car is under investigation and i just hope they catch the bastads!

To make this even weirder i pick up my new liquid yellow 182 tomorrow so all is good!

Well that is some good news I suppose.

But it's the insurance company's now, probably be up for auction somewhere soon if it's only cosmetic damage.

Make sure you tell the garage you don't own it now.

As I had a huge bill for storage from when my old motorbike was found and insurance company didn't collect it for 6 months, they tried making me pay for it as I was the registered keeper.

As Brad182 said - I'm surprised that it's still in the country. Not sure I'd like to know what happened to my car if it was stolen, tbh. Done and dusted, never to be seen again and all that.

Hopefully you won't be bummed too much by the Driver's Anti-Christ (insurance company) next year?

Glad to hear u got another on the way!, my dad had his work 4x4 with all his tools in (air tools, jacks, axle stands etc) nicked one night back in october, reported it stolen and made perfectly clear if found the police were NOT to recover it, my dad would get it from wherever it was to save the £100's recovery costs, after a while we just assumed it was a gonna and never to be seen again, after a couple of weeks we bought another 4x4 to replace the old one, then january i got a call at work saying they'd found it in essex, in a garage having some work done, the police had raided the garage (dodgy dealings i suspect) and found our 4x4 and a load of others, thus getting it back... not so simple the Met police recovered the 4x4 despite us saying we didnt want it recovered costing i think £300, dad still traveled to Essex to get the 4x4 and to his delight a bit worse for wear (dented, muddy, back door leavered open) but the amazing thing was it was still full of tools!! so now got 2 4x4's!
unfortunately not every stolen vehicle is this lucky.

I thought this was out of the country, im not sure how it hasn't been spotted in a busy city such as Birmingham.
As someone else says make sure they know it is no longer your car so they don't get sting you for storage, I wouldnt go and look at it as it will probably upset you. God knows why the stole it if it hasn't been stripped, must have been used in a crime.

Poor Clio, would be a shame to see a liquid yellow 182 in such a state. Saw the pics of another one that was stolen and burnt out, horrible
