MY00 1.2 Grande - 8v or 16v?

My GF has a MY00 Clio Grande 1.2.

Is it 8v or 16v? It's pathetically slow, but good on economy.

Also, why is it called a 1.2 when the capacity is nearer 1.1?

Grande's were always 8v to my knowledge.

Its the other models such as "Alize" which featured the newer 16v engines.

There isn't much in it between the 1.2 8v and the 1.2 16v tho.

I'm used to a 237bhp S2000, so it's rather slow to me!!!

I'll try, although controlling all of that power is a bit of a struggle, especially in the wet, it spins thw wheels in all 5 gears! I may have to purchase traction control!!

I'd say there is a big difference between the 8V and 16V. The 16V is utterly gutless and the 8V is dangerously gutless.
