My girlfriend's 1.2 16v dynamique has been making a wierd rattling sound of late. I asked in a thread on here when she first discovered it.
Now, we took it to Renault, and they had a listen and said yeah there's a noise there, book it in and we'll sort it. Anyway, booked it in and they told us that they couldn't find anything wrong. And charged us £40 for the pleasure.
Now, it's got slightly louder recently, and she said it's when she changes gear, but I took it down the road, and it's a rattling noise from the top of the engine that appears at 5k, and goes just after, in any gear. (It just so happens she changes just short of 5k therefore when the engine overruns slightly it hits 5k).
So, can anyone shed any light on it? Renault can't lol. I'm just concerned it it could be something to do with the cams?!?
The only thing that seems loose is the ecu bracket (which I keep meaning to remove) but when you hold it and rev the engine it still makes the noise so I don't think it's that.
