Navigation Systems

I want one. One with a flip out screen that comes from the stereo, one that has stereo controls on it...oh and is touch screen. Probably dont even exist outside optional extras for big exec cars.

Navigation system are well worth it, I went down to alton towers last year and was staying at a B&B down there, we didnt have a clue how to get there..

It was absoloutly slashing it down and windy as feck.. anyway I had taken my laptop + gps, we only took a wrong turning 2 times, and it was immediatly apparent when it happend.

I litterally said, we should be comming up on the b&b now, and just as I said it we drove past it.

There was no way we would have ever found it if it wasnt for the GPS. It was way out in the middle of nowhere with country back roads etc.

Well impressed, cause next morning we used it to get from the B&B to alton towers park.

Also on the way back or normal route was blocked by a fallen tree (it was that windy) and a quick look at the laptop and it had found an alternative route to bypass the blockage.

10/10 for the GPS on that trip.

The Alpine ones are mint.. but you got to pay for it...

Hmm but its sh*te

You have to look at it like this:

great headunit (music wise) about £200

superb navigation about £800

all in one = £1000

or you could get a PDA with the GPS addon, it has voice guidence too and you could take it out afterwards for security.

The Garmin iQue 3600 is the first PDA to include integrated GPS technology. With the power of Palm OS 5 and the dependability of GARMIN GPS technology, this "Super PDA" redefines multi-tasking. The integrated software not only allows you to look up appointments or contacts, but also locates and routes you to them with voice-guidance commands!

mate thos garmin ones can inly do pre programed routes that you load on to it otherwise it becomes a pretty "you are here" machine

example garmin memory 32mb

Alpine dvd memory 17gb

whoops!!!

Bit of a pain in the arse to user though i bet? Would have to be compatable with my HP Jornada too. Basically i want something for under £500 if poss.
