ne1 else think the 172 is missin somethin

ive been thinkin about it for a few days now, after lookin at some pics of my cup and other peeps cars. and just dont think the BACK of the car looks a agressive/sporty/sexy?? as the rest of the car. how can i explain it? its like, the front.... is, well, Mean AS!! and sits quite low, and then we have some quite chunky low sideskirts, but then theres the back...... its like its not low enough, or missin something. mayb a rear diffusor or splitter? i dunno, it just seems to sit so high im comparison to the rest of the car. is it just me?? it jusy looks betta from the front than it does from the back? like the arse sticks out? can anyone photoshop a splitter of some sort on the back of a 172 or cup? whether it be, a cup front one, or an ibiza one?

rear arches are same as base models. Look at the Williams, new arches all round, thats what they should have done.

Oh and a bonnet vent.

172s imho are visually such a complete and utter let down!!! lol

wheres the wide arches!? the bonnet vent!? the manly exhaust!?

Renaults balls have obviously shrunk over the years since designing the 16v/willy!!

To me the 172 should have been designed to look like the v6!! ...and the v6 should have looked.....even MADDER!!!

I cant really fault the 172 models apart from that there should be more pronouced rear arches. It avoids the boy racer looks of the Leon and CTR which is a good thing IMO..

Only thing i thinks missing from the 172 is an exhaust. It needs something suttle like the rest of the body styling which IMO is perfectly formed. I dont think anything needs to be added. Altho a lil bont vent/scoop would have been nice.

Wider rear arches and a showing exhaust exit would have been nice but other than that I think it looks great. They do look very impossing in the rear view mirror.

I think Renault obviously designed it more for people with good taste.

They might have had a slightly older driver in mind. Maybe they didnt want it to look like a boyracer shed. ( before it left the showroom )

You only have to look in our modification section to see just how right/wrong they were.

I agree that apart from a nicer standard exhaust and rear arches, its perfect as it is.

It does look meaner from the front though, when you see one approaching up behind you on the motorway, you do feel a bit proud especially with the zenons on

I think that the back end looks really good

I like the understated look, but put a 172 next to any other Clio of the same age and it’s not so inconspicuous…...the perfect mix I think, apart from the standard wheels, the mark2 really missed out there!!

The k-tec one above is very nice, especially the lexus lights!!!

I think the ktec one isnt too bad. mayb a bit too lary, but mayb if it was subtled down. mayb in black like the front splitter on the cup?

I prefer the visable exhusts.

The one thing i loved about my MG F, were the two shiny exhusts looking sleek and sexy at the rear.

The 172 should have sleek sexy bits too. They have got it right with the 182.
