need a new pc

  Mégane RS
thats more than enough, although you might want to find out what graphics card it comes with

  Der Panzer
FFS don't buy Dell.

The eBay jobber should do the trick, just remember the bays are empty and the graphics card will be onboard. Make sure the motherboard can be upgraded to meet you requirements.

Or, just buy bits and put it together; that's what I did.

if you can afford dual core buy dual core, great chips.

look around, would never buy a pc of ebay personal choice

have a look at www.meshcomputers.com

can't go wrong, wouldnt get a pc that doesnt come with at least a years warranty. As ive come to learn, PC equipment is fickle indeed. And when the sh1t hits the fan, it hits it 100%

mesh are a great company for pcs eh?

Just sell you what you want with inflating prices and giving you crap software you dont need. I think im gonna get a new one in the summer, was tempted just to wack it on the old credit card the now, but changed mind at last minute hehe.

  Focus ST-2
yeah, recommend them to everyone at work, that just wants a pc out the box, or they get me to bulid them one to the spec they want. The software is s**t like. think you get 6 or 9 months interest free, but you have to phone for that now, not available online.

they offer the same finance (first national) thats available in most stores. Pretty terrible form of credit in my opinion, but most retail finance options are. So really your worth just taking out a credit card for the purpose or paying it up front.

I like mesh for the simple reason they give you good gear at good prices. You go into pcworld (haha) and to a lesser extent dell and they inflate the price with sh1t you dont need and sell you equipment, which in my opinion, is often outdated and usually over priced.

  Monaro VXR
and i myself wouldnt buy a PC that isnt dualcore now. Youd be surprised at what things do take advantage of it quite well. Just general usage in windows you notice a difference.

Got a great deal through work on a Dell PC

Optiplex GX620 MT
P4 640 3.2GHz
160GB HDD
1GB RAM
Windows XP Pro
17" UltraSharp flat panel monitor
ATI Radeon X600 256MB
x16 DVD RW drive
x16 DVDRom drive
3 year support

All for £755.53 including VAT. Was tempted to go for 2GB RAM and a 19" flat panel monitor but the girlfriend gave me a budget. Not bad tho I thought?

Dell machines are by far the best PCs at my work for reliability and their customer service is top notch. We have had so many problems with other manufacturers such as HP, RM

Dell are over priced and over rated in the performance stakes.

If can try and upgrade, but the fact remains you can't polish a turd.

I wouldn't say over priced mate - they seem to have pretty good home PC deals, but each to their own.

In my experience with them you can't go much wrong

  Der Panzer
I built my own and it's been running hastle free for that time. A drive I've had for about 3 years packed up, but that's it.

PC's are like big Lego sets, easy to build and Google provides all the Tech support you require. If you can't follow step by steps from the internet then you shouldn't have your machine on it in the first place.

^ very true, I was going to build my own but really don't have the time to get the parts I want in from the various suppliers and the girlfriend wants it yesterday!
