need adive on my new clio 182

hey guyz,

hows it goin ? this car is fantastic. everything is great about it. i just need to know if its ok to really hit it off in the first 5000 kms ??? ive done about 3000 now, and i really cant drive slowly in this racer boy :). i just want to know, will it affect the car driving fast always ??? i sure will get an answer from you guyz. some of u already drove 172 and got the 182. i was driving a daewoo lanos before this one, talk about major difference :). if you got any useful information please e-mail me mailto:shi7aa@yahoo.com">shi7aa@yahoo.com or reply my post. thankx alot.

for the first few miles you should use various rev ranges, dont sit at one high level etc, try and vary the revs

As long as you have oil temp (ie about 10 mins of driving) then dont be afraid to open it up. As for the lights leave the standard ones on, aftermarket ones look sh*t.

u know, stock light looks better thanks. theres a cool carbon fiber cover for the engine it looks cool. its at http://www.k-tecracing.comwww.k-tecracing.com. they have alot of good stuff. ive been thinkin of gettin me one of those. i think itll be cool instead of the plastic engine cover.

  MK2 Audi TT - 2.0T dsg.

I have had mine for 3 weeks now and got it on 8 miles, The first 60 miles or so I was pretty easy going on it (Apart from my wife who read on here that to get a good seal you should take it in 3rd gear all the way to the red) which she did out side of the dealers when she picked it up for me rofl. apart from that as long as it had warmed up I have been taking to about 6000RPM and not much over that, not its not 670 miles once it is warmed up I will prob take it right up and have even more fun. ;)

hey guyz

if i turned on the ac in the run-in period. will it affect the engine ??? u guyz at uk dont need the ac but here in qatar, its real hot. i just want to make sure because i just got the car and i dont want to spoil the engine. i mean i want to drive without the ac but its really hot.

you wont break it mate, go out, put your foot down, and have some fun

AC is fine to have on, the compressor is cut off at full throttle anyway

rev the engine all the way to the limit, its built to take punishment!!!

(out of interest, how much do you pay for fuel out there??)

well fuel here is not very expensive. 1 litre equals 0.80 derhams. less than one riyal. thats the super. the premium is 0.75 derhams. 1 pounds equals 6.5 riyals so fuel here is very cheap compared to u in uk.

engine breaking is okay but i thought it was not the best thing to do, i mean its better if you double declutch to bring the revs up to the speed of the engine for how fast your going.

it just tends to put more stress on the engine which shouldnt be needed as the brakes work perfectly

thats my 2 pence anyway

i tried to use that engine breaking strategy but i cant do it. u have to swtich to a gear down and go easy on the clutch. and besides it think it will affect the engine on the long run. just use the breaks mate. i mean thats the idea of putting brakes in a car, to use them :).
