Need some Advice...

Hi everyone, i used to be on here about a year ago, i had a white 1.4 rt, had to change it to a mondeo! for a work car, but now its time for another clio (woo hoo!) but cant decide which one! would love a valver but cant get insurance (im in northern ireland) so its either an RSI or a 1.4 RT

The mondeo insurance is £1200 so no matter what im still going to be saving somthing
insurance for the RSI is £960 a year
the 1.4 RT is £656 a year.

what should i look out for on the RSI, any common problems, what are running costs like compared to the RT?

is the extra £300 a year worth it for the RSI?

i cant decide! heart says RSI! head says RT

I always thought irish insurance went *mainly* by engine size so the valver is the same (well, a little less technically - 1794 against 1764?) have you actually tried for a quote?

Personally, i'd say go for the RSI if you can

yea asked about the valver and they said because its group 12, i think RSI is 11 ? they cant even quote me until im 25! and thats 4 years away, i want it now lol!

insurance in northern ireland is mad lol most big firms wont cover NI at all so its hard to get any sort of half decent quote.

Only IG7 iirc, same engine block as the RSI just SPI. 95bhp

oh yea forgot about the 1.8RT had a 5 door last time tho was thinking of a 3 door this time but that would be a sort of best of both and insurance shouldnt be much more than 1.4 RT, thanks its an option if i cant get the RSI

yep go for the rsi if possible.....lunner use to have one and that was pretty rapid although there was nothing in it at all really

it was £40 more for me than a 1.4
