Need some BHP advice

  Mk2 172 Cup
Alright lads I have a 172 cup and have been told so many times it will only have 160 bhp so I'm doing a rolling road day at EVOTUNE and would really like to run 170ish
any advice would be helpfull
cars just had a full service
will have miltek decat with ktec stealth when I get round to fitting decat
going to diy port match
has ktec style induction with k&n filter
an hopefully map it with RSTuner

anything else I can do to get to the magic 172 without braking the bank?

Not really mate you've done everything that's affordable, beyond that you're talking cams and ITB's,
plus your BHP figure will be differ depending on what rollers you use,
you can go to three different places and get 3 different figures.

You should see 170ish at the flywheel with that lot.

cheers rs mate I plan for cams but that will be later on in the year

Been told by who ? The village psychic ?!

everybody that thinks they know everything about cars mate, rather annoying!

  182
160 to 165 is about the going rate with the 172s i have seen apart from the odd strong one that gets into the mid 170's.

As Dave has said each RR you go on will give different readings and the majority stupidly high.

I had a few pics of the caged black Clio I sold to Danith who then sold it to another chap rolling roaded at 179bhp, did feel a quick one. Like said most are 160-165 ish

Yeah it defo did feel quick but wasn't sure it did cos it made your ears bleed and weighed less than a tinned fart.

179.6 he RR'd it at last week after new belts and service. 83k I think it's on. Defo shifted, off at the lights!!

I think he noticed it has had a 182 manifold on it tho when he took it apart.

I don't 'miss' either if I'm honest, but I will say that both are absolute bargains for the £ per performance and fun. And the 2nd Ph1 I had (W533YBD) is the best car I've owned, followed by the first ph1 (X778KFV). Civic 3rd, Cup 4th then the rest.

Civic just a biatch to insure.

Evotune are good lads, I've had my M5 down there a few times over the years and seen other cars on the RR and all make realistic figures.

  ph2 172
My standard 172 ran 165bhp at evotune. Someone of the other guys with rs tuner map, exhaust and air filter were seeing over 170

When are you going to evotune might have a pop up if I'm free.
