Need suble exhaust - quiet decat possible?

Just picked up my 172, I want to change the exhaust for something suble (liking the stealth look ones) but I need it to not be too loud, esp on the m'way.

I would like to release a but of power if possible and cost means I cannot run to a 200/100 cell cat (which would be my ideal).

So my qu's:

Is the k'tech stealth very noisy?
Is it possible to have a non noisy de-cat?

I can cope with it louder than standard but not invasive.

As an idea of how loud I can cope with their is currently a fitted with a twin 3 inch mongoose and standard cat which actually is just about right noise wise, just a bit 'boy racer' looking for me!

Is there a pre-cat fitted to the standard exhaust? If so do people 'knock them out'?

Think any kind of decat is going to be fairly loud to be honest, you can buy silenced decats though. The stainless steel k-tech stealth is pretty loud and can get boomy on the motorway. The mild steel one is suppose to be quieter though.
