Need to top up the oil...need help...

Hiya,

I need to top up the oil on my 1.2 16v....on the dipstick it is just below the minimum line, i've bought some top up oil, but how much do i need to put in to make sure it is ok....how many ml?

It is being serviced next month so as long as it is ok until then it is ok.

(I checked the oil on a flat when it had not been running for 6 hours, so it is definately just below min....

Litre of oil to get it back to just before the max line.

A full litre between min and max....seems a lot?

Put some oil in, let it settle for a bit, then re check the dip stick. If it's still low add some more oil.

^ i see what you mean....but how much is some...100ml...500ml....??

Do it gradually, say 300ml (coke can size) then go from there.

No probs, just don't go mad putting the oil in, you'll be fine.

Once it's where you want it on the dipstick, give it a check again the next day, it should be ok though.

the amount between min and max is usually 1l in any car.
