Had this problem for more than a year, but not a major issue so not really bothered throwing money at it.
Hopefully if the video works it should show it all. Trip computer shows miles, then I switch it off, then start it again. You can see the needles come back below zero, vibrate for a bit then car starts as normal. Now trip computer has reset. Annoying thing is it loses the MPG figures too.
I read on here some people cured it by replacing the battery, so had mine tested and no issues. But I changed it anyway! Still have the problem though.
It does it everytime on start up, hot or cold start, hot or cold outside temp.
Is there a little watch type battery in the dash that is used as the power to store the trip info? Car is coming up for 10 years old.
