Netgear Router Problem



Heres the deal:

Desktop pc - Vista - Virgin Media Broadband (Cable) - Netgear Rangemax WNR384B Router

Laptop - Acer Aspire 3680 - Vista

Been having this problem for a while now but it's reached the point to seak help.

The laptop won't connect to the router everytime:
Sometimes it won't see it at all (even though its on).
Sometimes it will see it but won't succesfully connect.
Sometimes it will work as intended.

When it doesn't work doing a master reset (Using a pen) on the Netgear box doesn't help at all.

Anyone had this or a simmilar problem that can help?

make sure netgears firmwares uptodate, if not ideally u`d need to try another wireless device to determin if its lappy on router at fault

What signal strength / quality does the laptop report?

I would suggest try changing the wireless channel. Use a computer connected to the router via a CAT5 and just go through the channels until you find one that seems to be more reliable.
