Network/internet help!

hey guys need help!

my mate's mum's pc connects to the internet by connecting to the neighbours wireless internet (which they allow btw, for a small fee)

now my mate wants to connect his pc to the internet, so has a 100mbps switch which has ethernet cables running to his computer and his mums, and they are on the same workgroup..

what does he need to do to make the internet work?!

buy a wireless adaptor then he would be able to go through the next doors router without the need for mums pc to be on.
