New 172 PH1 is it an import??

Have just brought a PH1 172 Reg number Y995UKB. RAC Hpi says its an import from nothern ireland so would this car have come with UK spec or Import spec? Unfortunately i have already paid the deposit on the car as until yesterday I was unaware of how to spot an import. Hope someone can help.

Northern Ireland is in the United Kingdom.

Specs are pretty much the same, does the car come with etched security windows and a (poorly) fitted factory Alarm?

My old one was a parallel import from Europe, it didn't affect my insurance nor my resale value either.

I dont know if it has etching or an alarm as i didn't know that you could get them without!! All i knew was to check it had full service history and a cambelt change at 5 years etc all of which is fine. The car is very nice and in good condition just wish i had known to check these things! I get the car this weekend.

I'm not overly bothered just would be nice to know!!

i also forund out that my ph2 172ff is a import,doesnt bother me too much, will get a alarm fitted, noproblems with insurance or anything. they all from same production line lol

I wouldnt worry at all if its from Northern Ireland, have a look near the hazard light button is there a red led alarm light that looks out of place? Also does the front side windows have "this vehicle is fitted with thatcham cat 1 alarm system" (although these are usually removed). All the windows should have etchings on with a 6-8 digit code.

My insurance company do not reconise it as an import so all is cool. Can't wait to get the car and see it again!! It's in serious need of a steering wheel retrim though!!
