New 200 on the driveway

Just piked up my new 200 in Glacier White this morning. chuffed to bits!
Not looking forward to 600 miles of less than 3500 revs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Especially having heard the sound from the exhausts.

Drive it however you want from the start. Do an oil change at 1000 miles and it'll be it'll be fine.
Did you get the black front or grey? Pics?

Thanks for your comments, went through the same scenario with my 172, not knowing whether to stick to the rule book or not, ended up with a bit of mixed driving just could resist seeing what it would do.
Why the oil change after 1000 miles? Excuse my ignorance. Didn't know there was a grey front, mine is definately black!
Cant believe people say its an ugly car i think its amazing specially at some angles.

As said, the engine has already been through stringent safety testing and measures prior to it being sold.

Once the engine is warm get the hammer down

As a safety precation just incase you're 1k miles of driving it like you stole it take the edges off any burrs or anything previously unfinished in the factory - prevents it floating around in your oil until the first service..

Realistically you'd have to be VERY unlucky for anything like that to be in your engine to end up in there anyway.. as stated above the engines come pre-run'in by the factory dyno prior to you taking delivery so you'll be fine.

The oil change is just belt and braces.

Now go out and drive it like its designed to be!

I wouldn't nail it personally. Everything on the car is new, not just the motor. 1k i probably excessive, but a good 2-3 tanks of fuel should be done gently.

Just got back form 100 mile round trip cant beleive how things have moved on from the 172, feels kinda strange really even in 6th gear it feels like you're in fourth and you need to change up another gear! Anyone think the same?

Recaros should be specced for sell on at least. A lot of people look for 197's with recaros and the same will happen with the 200 although the yellow recaros were a ridiculous idea.

The 197 looked a bit boring but it's grown on me, the 200 I've hated from the outset and I'm yet to see one posted that has changed my opinion. Everyone is ordering them in white, guess it's like Turini's follow the sheep mentality and everyone here will pat you on the back

I guess at least it's not RB, that looks properly fisher price on the 200, utter failboat.

Lol at all engines being run-in on a dyno. They're bolted together on a production line, then shipped off and slung in your car. They are run-in across the docks at 7000rpm from stone cold. Any damage is already done, and any bits of metal will be where they should be - in the oil filter. Running-in is for steers and queers.

Just because something is liked by a wide majority of people doesn't make them "sheep"!
I would suggest that people don't spend £16k+ on a car just to seek approval.
