New 200bhp Clio

Can anybody tell me where I can get any information/pics on this new motor that has recently been talked about?

A) The 200bhp is an Autoexpress Rumour, called a Trophy. Upgraded wheels, suspension and interior (oh no wait, that the cup or cup pack).

B)Renault are fast turning into Porsche with the amount of variations in their range. e.g.

Renault Learned at an early age how to devalue last seasons car by bringing out a slightly better and more desirable one not long after the last. Ive no doubt theyll bring out a 200bhp clio just to piss off the 182 Cup people, who pissed off the 182 with Cup pack people, who pissed off the 172 Cup people, who in turn pissed off the 172 people.

Im sure the only reason Renault do it is because they look to come on this site once theyve released a new faster version and watch the fighting between versions. My Cup is faster than your Cup Pack blah blah.

I think RS are going to have some tough decisions to make if they continue the spec increase of the Clios. I dont know the exact list price of a V6, but Ill guess its approx double that of a 182. Ok, it may have 255 horses at the moment, but if a 192, or even 200 brake normal Clio enters the fray, can a V6 really hold its place in the RS portfolio?

I guess that with the increases made with the 172/182 family, the V6 must have a like-for-like increase as well. The issue being then - the number of sales made. A V6 (showroom spec) pushing 280-290bhp could in theory be knocking on the door of £30k. Serious money.

Yup, the 182 is Mk2 phase 3.

I thought this was the last incarnation of the V6, that it was going to be chucked into a Meggy next. So the Renault rumor mill has it.

Sounds like the closest thing to a modern Williams to me (if it genuinely is a limited edition with different engine, interior, suspension, plaque etc.).

Lets hope its true. If it is, Ill be gutted that I didnt hang on longer before getting my latest car.

Ill be 1st in line for a loved 2nd hand Trophy in 2007/8 please!
