new Clio 172 (advice needed)

Just after some advice, im going to look at a 172 cup (in blue) this week with 30k on the clock. It has FSH, long MOT etc etc. Its up for £3500 with a few minor car park marks.

Does this sound like a good deal?

been on the hunt myself for the past few months
well worth it so long as the low miles is genuine

Make sure it's had it's cam belt changed and there's a receipt for it ideally from a specialist. It's well overdue if it's not been done. A £300 job from a specialist.

just bought a 182 last week with 25k miles, it was obvious it hadnt done alot of miles, check steering wheel for wear and under the mats etc.
and yes you want to make sure the belts have been done for piece of mind as this will set you back a good few hundred quid.

he does claim full service history, but I will have to double check the belt change. How many years between belt changes on the 172? should of had 2 belt changes I guess?

im not 100% but think its 60,000 but theres an age limit aswell which i would have exceeded so should definately have been changed atleast once

60k are every 5 years for cam belt

Mileage seems very low so must be a winner. Belts on a cup not so bad as no air con

The low mileage cup turned out to be a horro. However i found another on the drive hme and i nw own a 172 cup with 55k on the clock

I just bought a 172 with 100k worth of miles on it lol (Was the best i could find) on an 03 plate, its got full service history and it had the belt done aroud the 70k mark. Paid £2500 for it hope thats about right :S

Sounds bout right. I paid 3k with fsh, years mot and 6nths tax only done 55k. The dealer had it up at 3500 but knocked him down.

Its also got a 4 2 1 manifold. I dnt believe this is standard?

Nice 1, I don't think the 4 2 1 is standard , not really sure though
