New Clio 182 "Full Fat" owner

  Clio sport 182 cup
Hi my names Pete, just bought a Clio 182 yesterday.
Got rid of my astra VXR, and thought I would get something a little cheaper to run, and got to say I love it!!
Right little pocket rocket.
Got a few plans for it, mainly painting parts, but has scorpion exhaust system, and obviously both cup packs.
Any suggestions on what I could do?

Welcome along mate

Looks tidy as it is, clean reg plates and maybe making the front one slightly smaller so it fits the recess, there a thread on here with dimensions

Welcome, hope your liking your clio :D What i found to make the enigne bay look a little bit nicer is by painting the grills at the front to black.. Since you have a black clio its a nice added touch :D

Look nice that mate, i love bg.

How do you find it in comparison to your vxr?

I had a corsa vxr then a corsa burg before this and i find the 182 much more fun to drive.

Like you it handles as though it's on rails, I miss the power as mine was 300bhp, but this still doesn't hang about :-D cheers robhoops I'm thinking of doing exactly that ;)

Some pics of my engine bay that I've done, de-finned the standard airbox & painted, painted inlet manifolds, and fuse box cover and engine cover ford electric orange (ST orange):-

Things to do...

Satin black the exterior plastics as things like the exhaust surrounds really stand out (the faded plastic stands out the most on Black Gold IMO. Avoid gloss black as that looks like you aspire to be the local drug dealer)
De-mist the headlights (800g, 1500g wet & dry, polish)
Paint callipers properly (remove all the s***, not just hammerite over a poor surface) a subtle silver or black etc
Have the cam timing checked & adjusted at a specialist (circa £100 - it's a bit silly, it seems there's a very real chance that you'll be down on power if it wasn't done by a specialist or at worst, Renault themselves)

Could do all of that for £150 and it'd be a lovely standard example, then go from there if you have the urge to change stuff (RARB, RS tuner remap, braided lines/track pads, springs etc) Forget power.

Sand the renaultsport and the three underlines on the inlet that you have sprayed mate then polish it back up, doesnt cost anything and looks better imo.

That's what I'm thinking of doing, or detailing white? Thanks Steven103, the lights is my next job, and the grills and some of the other plastics were on my list too :) not going to chase power as unless you go turbo or different lump you have no hope, but it's fast enough for now, might go decat route then remap to eliminate flat spot and k&n panel filter and that will be it for power for now. Callipers are in good condition, and not too sure about grey as the wheels are grey, might look at another colour option yet, good shout with regards to the timing I'll get my mate Aaron on here as he is like a Renault guru when it comes to mechanics lol
