New Clio v6 - £38,000

  MERCEDES CLS AMG

this was built by dave appleby - a mate of mine. He was on the original design team for the Metro 6R4.

Been in the comic [muttering news] for weeks. Scott wanted to bring it down and show it at Castle Combe but Billy went shy on the deal. Scott has done a lot of work on this car. Would make a superb hillclimb and sprint car.

Dave is all scoobied-up now, got an S8 & S9.

38,000 for that rally car? ... NO WAY !!!

how about spend 20,000 on 1-2 years old V6,

then use the rest (18,000) to mod it ...

  Lionel Richie

well you add up the price in parts

gearbox is over £7K

cage must be £2000

seats £1000

ECU £ alot

engine £ alot

dash + electrics + wiring = £3K +

Not really suited for rallying, hence why it hasnt sold.

It just doesnt fit in with the class structures and therefore would be competitive.

You could do loads of different events in this car. In 3 years time most of the rwd class club drivers will be building cars like this OR rear engine rwd Nissans!

Not IMHO,

This car would never keep up with the modern breed of MK2 escorts and they are in the class below and usually they have 6 speed sequential transmission and 250bhp+

That car would be against 6R4, scoobies, mitsis and the like no contest.

Also the RACMSA is very much against specials being made.

Project 254, now thats a name ive not heard of in years. Used to be on here all the time.

Buy it and Race Mike T!

Would be a great car to roll out of the garage at weekend though
