New(er) family mobile - Mazda 6 Sport

Following on from this thread we've decided after 2.5 years and 20k miles its time to move the saab on and get something different. Because we've just moved house it had to be of a similar value, looking to keep it for about a year and a half or so.

Its a Mazda 6 2.5 Sport which I think has more to do with spec than sportiness! Its got a whopping 168bhp and does 0-60 in 8.3 seconds apparently. So it will definitely not set the heather on fire but at least it has spec to keep me occupied whilst I'm accelerating. Its got dual zone climate, heated half leather, xenons with cornering lights, bluetooth, bose 7 speaker setup with a sub instead of a spare wheel all that sort of s**t.

Only taken a couple of my own pics and the rest are the dealers I got it from

And the limited mods that will happen to it have been done already

Spotted that a sidelight was out so LEDs that I had in the garage anyway were chucked in and the next thing will be new plates. Then a wheel refurb. Probably silver again but with a bit of a metallic flake to it cos I'm a tart.

  Whichever has fuel
Actually....Can you get me a pic of the rear seats? From being sat in the front??
Just so I can see how big the middle seat is.
Thanks kindly x

Actually looks decent. Why rid of the Saab though? Seems the perfect bus.

Sure will tomorrow. And since the child seat is in already you can see how it is with that too.

@gally basically the Saab doesn't have the interior space, we need to move Ella from side to side on longer journeys and that's getting boring. That and we've had it 2.5 years, that's quite good going for us!

Nice. What are your thoughts? Shame you never seen a post I made as thinking about buying a colleagues Mazda 6 Sport Estate 2.5 (Petrol) doubt I will keep it long if I buy it. Do you mind sharing mileage and what you paid?

Bit soon to comment on what I think, it feels like a hire car at the moment. But the stereo is superb.

Just saw your post, that is a shame, I would've had that! PM incoming

Decent, I miss my old Mazda 6 at times, more so the BOSE system. Good choice on fuel type as well as the diesel is horrendously Unreliable.

I keep looking at the CX7 2.3t for a family bus as they're peanuts for what you get as a package.

  dan's cast offs.
should of bought a slightly older mps 6, cheaper and probably cheaper road tax as well, fun when they get to about 500bhp

It's only £265 to tax.
Drove a mps a few times and I was thoroughly underwhelmed by it!
They are standard, get them up to 300hp and they become a bit of a weapon, but that totally defeats the point of a family bus. The rear seats don't fold down either which is just stupid.

To make them faster?
Yeah mate, stupid cross beam behind the rear seat upright for rigidity. you can get the seats down from inside the boot once you take the trim away, and you can also remove the beams but not sure how this would effect handling mind as they're already a pudding at the rear with the beams in situ.

A RARB is a must on these cars...

Beginning to like it a bit more. Certainly handles better than the Saab. Also can do some massive lift off oversteer in the wet but I wonder how much the 'lanvigirators' on the back contribute to that

Great cars for the money. Weird you were underwhelmed by the MPS, awesome midrange on them, especially after a remap...bullet proof too.

The MPS isn't a bad car I just don't feel they're good enough to warrant the money/running costs and don't really like how Americanised they look. Being a saloon was the final nail in the coffin for us
