New Event - Renault Festival 2012

The Boosh!

ClioSport Admin
  Elise, Duster
Hello,

Some of you may have seen Micks thread earlier on this month, but i've locked that and started this one as it contains all the information you need.

Much of this has just been copied and pasted from the (120+!!!!) slide show Renault FR have ben distributing.

ClioSport WILL NOT be attending as a club. This is because:
- RUK have communicated this very poorly. We got the details from v6Clio who got them from RAOC
- It's too last minute to organise to a standard we would be happy with
- We don't think there will be much 'buzz' for this, but we will see what happens.

So the event...

The Renault Festival is the chance for all Renault enthusiasts, no matter what the object of their passion (modern cars, old cars, utility vehicles, sports cars, tractors, competition fans and more), to meet in a mythical place to share the Brand universe: its history, its latest news, its functions, its products...

Fun, friendly and generous, this interactive gathering will be jointly organised and led by Renault and the Clubs to produce a memorable, one-off event.

The date: 22 and 23 September 2012
The place: Autodrome, Linas-Montlhéry (France) at the heart of Europe (it's the place where Ken Block did his Gymkhana 2 video)
For whom?

For all Renault lovers and enthusiasts

Pricing

Pricing is unnecessarily complex. Haven't a clue why they've put together such a STUPID pricing structure. The way i've translated it is as follows.

If you want your car to be in the event, it's going to cost you €50-€60 euros. Why they can't provide a definitive price I haven't got a clue. You get various benefits from being in the event. (See website).

If you want to be a visitor (would recommend this really) it's going to cost you €12-€15. Under 14's go free.

See http://www.festivalrenault.com/tarifications.php for more (poorly communicated) details.

So thats pretty much is. There is a FAQ as well as details of camping/hotels nearby on the website here.

If you want to speak to someone and have any questions, then e-mail renault.classic@renault.com, as chances are I won't be able to help you.

Finally I'd like to hear your thoughts on this, being curious.

Cheers.

  V6 255, 172's, JCW,
This is shaping up to be a very nice event.

Renault have committed half a million euros to spend on the infrastructure.

- Laps of Monthlery
- Goody Bags
- Exclusive Model Car
- Renault Classic Collection Cars on display
- Themed areas
- Electric Cars & New Models
- Alain Post
- Jean Ragnotti
- The Four Muskateers 'Andruet, Thérier, Darniche and Nicolas'
- Formula Renault Display
- Renaultsport Show
- Formula 1 Display
- Loads of competitions & activities
- Children's Playground
- Win a Twizy
- Concert
- Food stalls
- & Much more...

We will post up more details as we have them

Target is 1000 Classic Cars minimum. 2000 preferred.

If only 1000 collectors make it that means Renault are effectively contributing 500 euros per display car so its only good manners to come along and support the event!

You need to pre-register here, before 15th April:

http://www.festivalrenault.com/

Then click on the Union Jack to get the english version.

Click on registrations.

Click on PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION

Fill in the details on the form. Once your car details have been entered a club registration code box will appear.

You can use the RAOC code 9RAOCL to save 20 euros on a weekend ticket. So that makes it only 40 euros for the weekend instead of 60. This is very very cheap for a proper manufacturers weekend festival. This is equivalent to £35, and allows entry for 1 car +1 driver and 1 passenger. (Basically the passenger goes free)

Completing the registration reserves you a place.

You then need to pay!! This would normally via a bank tranfer to Renault Classic which will normally cost £10-£20 depending on your bank thus undoing any saving made to date! As a result we have now made arrangements to pay Renault Classic collectively and only have one fee. But you must let us know once you have pre-registered so we can make sure the payment is made.

Payment to RAOC please on this guys, as its by far the most cost effective method. Details are:-

Option A - Paypal: payment@renaultalpine.co.uk Gift or Personal Payment ONLY please!

Option B - Cheque for £35.00 made payable to RAOC, sent to;
RAOC,
Canada Wharf,
255 Rotherhithe Street,
London.
SE16 5ES

15 participants earns a free 3m x 3m (9 m ²) clubs display space
30 participants earns a free 5m x 5m (25 m²) clubs display space, with an optional vehicle exhibition
60 participants earns a free 10m x 5m (50 m²) clubs display space, with an obligatory vehicle exhibition

Renault Classic have confirmed that you can sell club regalia etc from the clubs display space.

They will also help to fund any interesting activities but these must be free of charge to the public and other collectors.

We currently have 20 participants from RAOC, RTOC & RCCC combined. With V6clio.net collaboration also we will hopefully achieve at least a 5m x 5m space for the UK Clubs participants.

Its also worth noting;

Stand space is just a 'shop' or 'stall' type prescence in the Renault village and not the parking area for the cars!

The idea is to have one or possibly two show cars here and some adverts/freebies/promotion for the uk Club scene.
Will also be a meeting / rendezvous point and possible shelter in case of bad weather!

Please register BEFORE the 15th April, even if you you dont pay for another week or 2, as there is going to be a review of attendance numbers and club commitment by Renault Classic. If numbers have not picked up by this date, there is a chance of the event being cancelled which would be such a great shame. But PLEASE, do NOT register unless you are 100% committed to attending this event!

Vehicles can be removed from the show ground at anytime, but will not be allowed re-entry for that day.

Many thanks.. this really ought to be a great event for all things Renault, Renault Sport and Alpine.

We may even get some entertainment from David Guetta! Who is the newly appointed ambassador, along with his wife Kathy, for the new Renault Twizzy!

Finally, please get your name up to confirm you have booked!

Any further questions, please just ask! :race:
