new exhaust, insurance increase?

alright buds,
i think i am gonna get a new exhaust from powerflow, im gonna tell my insurance company so how much do you think it wil go up. am 24 with 1 y ncd had my clio 172 sport 4 2 months? i just need a guestimate before i phone the insurance sharks on monday

It all depends on

- who you are with
- how they rate modifications
- how long youve been driving
- etc...

i dont think anyone can give you any real guestimate. could be from £0 - £200

ring them up and say your thinking of doing such and such can i please have a quote.

the only other choice you have is to move insurance companies if your not happy as theres not much else you can do, apart from not tell them - NOT WISE :nono:

You run the risk of them INVALIDATING your insurance leaving you with a BIG bill.

Connor had his insurance voided after an accident. Which i beleive came to a huge amount as the car was in a state. (altho he did win his case in the end)

If you do as i said phone up and say you are thinking of doing..... it should be a problem.

They will either say

- sorry we wont accept mods
- give you a price
- say its free

yup me im 18 with 0yrs NCB 0yrs driving and I declared my Powerflow cat back system, they didn't seem to care what it was just all they needed to know was it is louder than standard. they charged me an extra £51 including alloy wheel cover which I took out at the time 2

I decalred a carbon bonnet, lexus lights, angel eyes, exhaust, induction kit, clear side repeaters, lowering springs, 17" alloys, tints and itswent up £230

technically you have to declare anything you change from origional specificcation.

BUT, most places wont care if you change the gearknob or put clear side repeaters on the car.... but obviously if you have LOTS of "little" exterior changes it maybe worth mentioning youve changed lil bits here an there.

Otherwise i wudnt bother.
