New exhaust

I'm fitting my new stainless steel exhaust this weekend, cannot wait as I've been cruising about with a blowing standard system since the start of December. Haven't passed 3k revs for a long time!

Just wanted to know, what's the best way to run in the system? Or is it a case of bolt it on and go, can I go for a spirited drive straight away?

Also roughly how long does it take for the system to bed in and begin to sound like it will for it's whole life? (I know systems sound different when new and change over time).

Might all sound stupid but I'm only home for the weekend and want to know whether I can go for a spirited drive straight away!

Cheers

Yeah bolt it on & go for it. I've never heard of needing to run / bed in an exhaust system to be honest? When Prospeed fitted mine they revved it quite hard after they'd fit it to make sure there wasn't any leaks etc. you're right about the sound though - think that usually takes about a fortnight to fully settle (depending on how much u drive it).

Have to say I love mine. It's not overly loud on the motorway but sounds good when you give it some stick. Not raspy either - I don't like raspy exhausts as I think they sound too 'try hard' (like you hear on a 1.0 litre saxo in Maccie D's car park lol)

Sweet cheers guys. Yeah I hadn't heard in the car world of bedding in an exhaust but I remember from my karting days sometimes we'd give it a lap or two before giving it the beans. Guess that was a totally different system though , being a 2 stroke and all!

And sounds good seltking, much better than the usual 1.2 noises I sometimes hear that just sound like the exhaust has fallen off!

lol thanks mate thats why i kept the extra cash instead of buying a cheap system and i can live with this one instead of a booming box at 30 lol like a few on here iv heard. what system have you went for?

the one in the dark wasnt in my road it was on private land in the middle of nowhere. but the neighbours dont mind the exhaust its the loud music that annoys then so stereo is at like 3 every time i pull into the street lol

I've bought the JP Ktec exhaust (wanted one when they were a Yozza but didn't have the money, and can't wait long enough to wait for the new BTM one as my current system is literally falling off). Very excited though, gutted I can't call it a Yozza though!

Will it sound the same as a yozza?
Also how much u pay if you don't mind me asking?
Also, its mee ssshhhhhh ;).

Ha good to see you've got back on here finally!!

Yup it will sound exactly the same, it's the same design.

Here's the link: http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=4222

Stupidly expensive but IMO I'd only be wanting it even if I'd have saved £150 and got a cheaper system.

EDIT: if you're looking to upgrade yours it might be worth waiting for the new BTM system, I spoke to Fred on the phone and he confirmed it'll be a better system than the Yozza but with all the good qualities kept! I would have waited but with the track day in March and for the sake of like £50 I thought f*ck it and bought this! And get yourself to the trackday at Bedford 26th March!
