New guy but oh dear a Diesel!

Hi people just bought a Clio 1.5 DCI 80 2002 lovely car, picking it up Tuesday!

If I cna get the money together i'm considering to remap it and make it a little more sporty!

Can anyone tell me what a remap actually does, how much it is and where I can have it done?
