new head

  clio 1.4rt (old school)
hi there folks. was wondering if a head from a different car would fit on my 1.4rt clio. i dont think the williams will because thats a 16valve. does any1 know an answer to this and if yes what sort of power increase would be gained? i was thinking of doing an engine conversion but if this is possible then would probably be the best option for me just now.

cheers folks.

Nope you'll need to have the head ported (about 500~600 from a specialist).
An engine transplant is the best idea IMO but I think 110hp or so was possible you'll have to do a search but I think the 1.8 throttle body fits along with some cams and head work. There a member on another foum who has the same erngine who will tell you what you need to do too do a DIY porting job but its a specialst job realy.

105 - 110 bhp on budget??? Youll be hard pushed to do that I think. I spent between 1500 - 2000 and only got 89 bhp from a standard 65bhp engine. Youve prob got a better base than mine at 75bhp but thats still a lot to gain

oh well scrap the 110 idea then. lol. but does any1 know about swapping the head? what about one of the rsi 1.8 8valve? the valves should line up with the piston crown as they are both 8valvers. anyone know?

I think that the rsi head has the mutipoint injection on the inlet manifold and the rt only has single!? I cant be sure that the inlet off a rt would fit a rsi head it might be worth asking hill power or k-tec.
