i think we will have to agree to disagree, it DOES sound great and there is no distortion until you totally max it out, which if i want my hearing to continue working i wont do anyway. (but i dont think this distortion has anything to do with sub anyway.. its just general sound distortion)
H/U, front comp's (amped), and sub (not essential) is all you need for a perfect SQ setup!
so you are sayign all you need for good audio is just front speakers?
cos thats just madness, its all about surround sound
And at some point i will be dropping new component speakers into the rear reveals, just havent got around to it.
I'm sorry but you clearly know nothing about decent car audio, which shows by your choice of equipment!!! I'm not saying I'm an expert, I'm sure Dink
and Muzz will show their faces at some point in the post who are probably the most knowledgable people on the site in relation to ICE. Just try posting this up on TalkAudio and see what they say. They are the true experts and will let you know what they think.
What is so good about surround sound in respect to music??? 5.1 and such are only of benefit for watching TV, films, etc. not listening to music. When you go to a concert they don't place speakers at the back of the room as you're not supposed to listen to music from behind you, it ruins the soundstage.
Just look at the top home stereo systems from the likes of Bang & Olfsun, 2 tweeters, 2 mids, and a sub. PERFECT!
This is all coming from someone who has had experience of 6x9s. In my naive youth I bought some and thought they were greta, until I took the advice of people who know their stuff about ICE. I'm running DLS MS6 components up front and a Phoenix Gold Xenon (X12D4) sub. Non of which are market leaders, but they are in a completely different league to the products you have used.
