the HP upgrade site is

click me

but not sure if the compaq still qualifies, no such thing as compaq these days, still amazed they are using the brand name on consumer laptops, can't see why they just can't use HP branding.

i bought it from Pontefract store - w.yorks.

this is the cheapest i could fins this laptop!

Should of come to me, i am sure I could of got it cheaper for you than you bought it :)

1) all the parts in your laptop have warranty anyway. i.e h/d normally 1 year, motherboard 3 years, cpu 5 years, some memories a lifetime.

So their warranties are balls.

you cannot install graphics card in a laptop* as its all compact :) thats the whole point of a laptop as its all compact.

lol, extra warranties are not balls at all, I walways buy a 3 yr on my sony's, normally 1 thing goes wrong and it pays for itself, hell if the screen goes without the warranty you are looking at getting a new laptop they are so expensive so its worth it then.

I'd like to see someone claim on a motherboard failure form a laptop after 2 years when the manufacturers warranty has run out, it would be a lot of hassle!

My laptop was £1700 and the warranty £130, worth every penny.

It is all relative.

Sony are excellent and yes the screens are expensive.

yours was £1700 and u paid £130 for the added bonus of being secure , you would be mad not too.

But I am talking more about PC world and curry's when they sell laptops for £400 and charge £299.99 for their warranties......

It is all relative :) sorry I was too vague.

Apologies.

Technically not true depends on the age of the laptop and the kind of bus its using a lot using the PCI-E bus now come in a single chip solution which can be upgraded. But its usually only for the more expensive laptops.

i've bought this laptop as i thought with its shared graphics and decent RAM it shouldnt be too bad -

core 2 duo @ 2.0ghz
2GB RAM
120GB HDD
256 Share intel graphics

i am going to hopefully stick 4GB RAM in it but i know it will void warranty -

who can do this so it wont void the warranty?

i could do with better grpahics on it really :<
