New Member - Need Help!

Hello everyone, im James and i currently drive a modded mk3 rover 214. I wanna get rid of that and get something a little faster, a clio 16v.

Heres where u lot can help me! :)

When looking for a 16v what should i look out for?

What mileage is TOO HIGH?

Are there any tell tale signs of it being ragged?

What sort of prices am i looking at? (phase 1)

Whats the performance really like on these?

thanks everyone

Jamez

They can be fragile, thats all Ill say. Best to pick a high miler with loads of receipts for stuff thats broken and been fixed than something with fsh and a clean sheet - look for stuff like the clutch, cambelt, gearbox, engine mounts having been replaced in the last year or two. 72k is the big service so it should have had the cambelt done then which is not an easy job. Rust appears at the rear arches first, if its anywhere else it hasnt been looked after.

Buy on condition, not age or mileage and remember for around 4 grand you can pick up a half decent Williams nowadays.
