New motherboard - Do they all now take dual core cpu's?

  Astra CDTI SRI
I have been out of the computer building scene for a long long long time now.

Do all the new motherboards take Dual core cpu's?

Also, am I right in thinking that if you get a dual core, that is sated as 2.8ghz, you are really getting 5.6 ghz equivalent as there are 2 cpu's doing the work? Or am I miles off! :D

Dual 2 core are the latest and greatest and have over taken the Pentium D dual core CPUs.

I'd imagine the majority of Intel chipset mobo's can now run both.

yeah not bad mate. check out overclocers.co.uk for decent gear (good for comparing whats on the gaming market, then you can shop arround for cheapest price). then go to that website on tmshardware and check out the vga charts to see how your card fairs against the best. make sure you research everytihng till your totally sure...

Not true you need core 2 duo specific boards unfortunately so be careful with that if your looking.
