Hi i have just picked up my new clio. so i thought id better join the forum. Just wondering what you lot think of it. the lad i got it off told me he used to be a member on here. its a 2004 with 30k on the clock. Lowered on ebach springs (untill i get hold of some standard ones). Im 19 and this is my 6th car because i cant seem to find any thing i dont get board of. So far i love the clio to bits tho. Are there any easy mods to make it abit faster. What induction kit is best for performance gains? Iv added a few pics.

why do you want performance mods? you have the fastest shape clio thats available (well according to cliosport), it will beat ferraris standard down a quarter mile and although its called a 182 most are producing double that power, around 364bhp!

Yer I have been told it should have a splitter already because it has the Cup package. I think ill order a k tec carbon fiber splitter. Im putting the standard springs back on because here in the lake district the roads arnt good and it gets a bit skitish whilst cornering if it hits any bumps. I do like the look of it lowered tho.

Performance wise, unless you go for Cams or Throttle Bodies you won't get much more bhp.

Re-map can get maybe 5bhp more, but make the car more driveable

first was a saxo 1.4(crap car) then i got a zetec s in blue.( not bad) then i got a 206 grand tourisme, then a 106 gti (not loads behind a 182) then i bought afocus st170 (slow for 170 bhp and high insurance) and i just got my 182 last weekend. the 182 is the best out of the lot by a long way.

Not sure on the cup pack, the rear spoiler looks like a standard one.

Nice to see someone being sensible instead of just assuming stiffer/lower is better!!

i thought the cup package just had darker wheels and a different suspension than the normal 182??? im prob wrong tho

There was cup suspension and cup spoilers, in two separate packs. You do see quite a few that are like yours, with cup suspension but not cup spoilers. I live in Carlisle mate, what're your favourite roads through the lakes?

2 cup packs were available, suspension and spoilers, looks like yours has one but not the other. At least you got the important one! I'd stick with the Eibachs, had them on my 182, improved handling, some ride deterioration but not a massive amount.

any advice on insurance? as ive got a 172 at 18 and struggling with insurance.

i bought the car from carlisle. from a lad called tim. have you ever been over kirkstone pass??? the best road in the area by far. i am insured with elephant i think im paying 1700 for 10 months.. lol so not cheap. no points and 3 years no claims( bonus accelerator).

Nice car mate, im in the same boat as you ive had 5 cars and im 18! Cant find anything i dont get bored of but the 1*2's are damn good cars. But im selling my 172 to buy a house so wont have to bother with a car for a while now. id just leave it stadard mate.
