  Renault Clio 1.5 DCI mk2
First off, hello everybody, i'm new on the forum so pls be nice :).Here's my Clio
821495_42.jpg

It's a 2004 1.5 dci 82 bhp, "extreme", and i just started modding it. I consider criticism costructive so please feel free to share your opinions about it's looks.More pictures can be found on the car's site : http://www.cardomain.com/ride/821495

And now for the questions every newbie asks :)

1.What's in your opinion the best coilover kit : koni, fk, eibach, H&R, or KW ?
2.16" or 17" and how low...
3.the ld tuning front bumber or the kombat evo one, or none :)
4.Ever heard of oxigin wheels, and if so, ar they any good?
5.Chiptuning,remaping at upsolute (www.upsolute.com)
or leave it alone?
6.Aftermarket Xenon HID or not?

Thank you for reading my tread and for any answers to my questions. Cheers everybody.

Hey dude welcome to the club,

1) the best coilover kit is either FK's or H&R depending on which you can afford, but both are very good.

2) go for 16" wheels and id go for cup wheels (turini's) 17"'s will slow you down and are only really for show.

3) Only bodykit id have is the renaultsport kit bumpers sideskirts or just leave it.

4) not sure on the oxigin wheels

5) not sure on chipping a diesel ask benR for things like that or Yoz.

As for your car, looks nice and tidy, will look better after you get bigger wheels and get it lowered.

Hey m8, welcome!

1) Speak to y0z & Fred and see what they would recommend for coils

2) The best size will be 15/205 or 15/215. The cup racers have the 15/205 so there will be your inspiration.

3) I can get you a good deal on a body kit as I sell them. The kits I do are rare, sporty & subtle.

4) They sound pretty crap

5) Any performance/handling upgrades go to Mark Fish, he is the daddy.

6) Silver vision...but everyone has them now.

You got to ways to go mate, looks or performance. I am more about performance as no one will see your car when you’re in the lead lol.

Nice car m8, look after it.

  C63 AMG, F430 & 172
loose the spacers, they will f**k things up, 3mm at most, anythink more than that ull need extended bolts which i have a contact for for £1 each and size and length

1) Blistein but there expensive FK are a good balenced product though.
2) 15's preferably but 16's are the maximum unless you just want looks IMO.
5) How much do you want to spend a custom remap will get you about 110hp. Personaly if you want to tune a tunning box from www.mrhoot.com makes for a good price but its not as good as a superchip remap. a Custom remap is the best but pricy and no warently. Personally I wouldn't bother though.
60 Don't bother better bulbs when the standard ones fail but to expensive otherwise.

Thanks 4 the replays, as for the spacers, i have extended bolts and all, but i think i'l take them down anyway, as for 16 or 17, how about a 17 superleggera, will it be that heavy? I mean mine are 15" and they are only 4.5 kg each so... and those 17 together with 215/35ZR17 or for the 16" 205/45R16 , right?

As for a second hand 172, i can't as my car is in leasing and will be so for the next 3 years, so i can't sell it for a reasonable amount...

btw, how much can you tune a 1.5 dci 82 bhp model, i mean how high can you go, with a custom remap from upsolute i can get to 107 but thats about it i think, or is there anything more that can be done?

  MERCEDES CLS AMG
Leave the bodywork standard - concentrate on making the vehicle lighter and improve the performance of the engine imo.
