New PC..

Ok guys, I need some help on spec etc.

I play no pc games at all, so it doesnt have to be top notch. Basically its internet/photoshop/itunes/cad stuff. Nothing too hardcore, but I dont want it going slower than a Cup in the snow..

I just want the base unit, I have monitor etc etc.

It doesnt need a massive HD as all my music/films are stored on an external HD.

I want XP, too.

Also, it MUST MUST MUST have a 25 pin serial/parallel port!

Budget is as little as possible! lol..

have you though about getting a laptop instead? although, the serial port may be an issue with one...

i dont really see the ponit in a desktop unless you are into gaming tbh, but thats just me.

On the contrary i dont see the point in a laptop unless you need to move it around a lot... less spec, more money.

Im quite happy with a desktop tbh. But as Dan says, cost lots more.

Cheers mate, but ive tried all sorts of connectors and it doesnt want to work.

Spoken to the company that make the machine and they dont recommend running it via a USB connection.

So 25 pin port is needed

juust buy any and whack one of these in, 5 minute jobby

side off, push out a hole in the case, slot in
cant help with spec though mate.

and as laptop vs desktop, my god desktops are SO much more comfy!

Absolute bargain, just need a low-profile Parallel port (not sure the DC's come with them anymore!).
