New person with 172 - And a problem :(

Hi guys/girls

So here's my 172, really chuffed with it, got it serviced last week apparently the MAF sensor was faulty but my mechanic said it was just loose so he sorted that. It dove away fine.

Yesterday the exhaust emissions light starts flashing and it struggles to pull away. When I got home I put it on the drive and it stalled. I don't know if its the MAF or the dodgy backbox or something else lol

Could be Mis-firing mate very common.

Coil Packs, HT leads and Spark Plugs should all be checked, injectors worth a check also!

The car has probaly gone into "limp" mode mate, as you have probaly noticed the car wont rev above 3k or so?

Dont force it, just nurse it there if possible, failing that el them to get a frigging flat bed out double tap!

172's dont have a MAF sensor mate, dunno where he's got that from. If the emissions light has come on and its running dog rough, it sounds as if you have a cylinder not firing. Things to check- llambda sensor, coilpack, plugs, leads. Get it plugged in at a garage and se what fault codes it throws up.

oh, wtf.

I cant see the HT leads anywhere I guess they are under the big white cover? Time to get the manual out.

Looks like a trip to renault maybe, cheers.
