New Phase 1 172 Owner - Whats the deal?

  Er lots!
After getting rid of my 182 Cup a couple of years back it was always only going to be a matter of time before I had another Renaultsport clio . I've ended up with an early Phase 1 more by luck than judgement and noticed they seemed to be fetching more money than some of the later cars. I was wondering what sort of numbers were left and is there any major differences with the later cars. Is it just rarity inflating the prices. Are there any records of the chassis numbers so I can check how close to the start of the production run it is.

Thanks for any help/info :0)

  Petrol Blue 182.
There was a website which lists all the numbers of all the Renault Sports ever made, colours, spec etc! I can't remember what it is though. What colour is your Ph1? Silver was the most common and Yellow was the rarest iirc. Blue Red and Black are not uncommon but alot harder to find!

The differences between early and late ph1 are fairly minor. Early ones have a shorter, 1 lambda cat, alloy bonnet and gearshift indicator and are on W plates.
