So i decided to delve in the vag scene, selling up my Clio and moved on to this 2004 seat Leon Cupra r. the fun factor and rawness i loved about the clio isnt there but for build quality and comfort its great, (soon to be ruined by me)

first pic on the day i got the car

car already had a few mods done at AMD Essex and the car pulls great

about a week after owning the car i started to get a misfire under load so i stuck it on the diagnostics and it appeared the coils were breaking down, so i gave Awesome GTI a ring and ordered there 2.0tfsi coil-pack kit, fitted it and the missfire seemed to be cured

I then fitted some 6k hids to get rid of the piss coloured lights

Then i lamixexd the fogs and fitted pressed plates which i got for my birthday, big improvement imo

so far thats it but iv plenty more on the cards 1 last pic from today

They go well with a map. Mine was 275 bhp 289 ibft iirc.

Very nice mate. I bet it feels like a barge in comparison to the clio.

yer it does feel like a boat compared, tbh i think the clio would run rings around it 90% of the time, but the torque from this is great makes overtaking so easy compared.

Looks nice, I replaced the williams as a daily driver with a 2010 leon fr. As you say build quality is amazing compared to the renault, and being a diesel with nearly 400flb its not slow.

Yeah was Revo (I forget what the timing and boost settings were) on Stealth Racings rolling which is usually very accurate.
Car was about 5k miles old.

so after waiting for a week for TPS to get this in stock a audi s3 strut brace, iv also got new gaskets for the rockercover, throttle body and intake manifold so i can tart up the engine bay a bit as it just looks dirty,

iv been toying with the idea of having my rocker cover airbrushed, not sure yet but ill probably get it powder coated in red crackle effect as all the silicone hoses are going to be changed to black

heres a couple designs i threw on firstly the iscream's

and the zombie Mario i found on the net, not sure it will be to much. but would be a good way of getting attention at shows to advertise.

i should fingers crossed be getting a delivery of some more parts tomorrow so il update again then

fitted my coilovers today, stupid VAG design doesn't make it easy removing the front struts that's for sure !

drive shafts out, drop-links disconnected, lower balljoints loosened off. what a ball ache to do !

Things kind of went downhill from there after bating 10 belles of s**t out of the hubs to finally get the struts out.

The bolts that secured the strut in place were IMO excessively corroded so i ordered up some new ones of them

whilst i was swapping the top mounts over i dropped one of the bearings promptly it burst in to 1000 pieces, ball bearings all over the shop so i ordered another set of them, after inspecting the other bearing they were shot anyway.

so new OEM bearings

whilst i was at it i thought id put some new drop-links on to for the sake of whilst i had it all off.

then a case or putting it all back together

Strutbarce and lowers brace still to fit but that's for another day !

hopefully the weather will be good so i can get some pics of her now shes a bit lower

That's a bit OTT. All you need is a lump hammer and a big bar. The struts soon come out then.. Tried and tested many times.

drive-shafts were bottoming out on the sub-frame so i had no choice but to pop them out, anyone thats met me im only a small lad, so beating 7 shades of s**t out of it is more like tapping it lots of times haha

didn't help that the bottoms of the struts had corroded up making it hard to get them out, i think il be investing in a hub spreading tool

The Cupra R has different hubs. So the shafts do have to come out or you have to use spring compressors to get enough clearance.

Yeh the LCR hubs have a roll centre adjustment on them meaning the whole hub is about 2" taller.

the b14s ive just put on are surprisingly comfy apposed to the AST's i had on my Clio which were horrendous on the road

surely having a smooth reduction would be better than a sudden step down in size ? or is the reducer tapered ?

Yeah its tapered

Thats how the adapter sat on the turbo. Pretty sure there is a newer version out now. Which is like the forge, tapered silicone. No billet adapter.

Its the turbo intake pipe. Its about a third larger than oem. Allowing more air to be drawn in.

Plus the soft oem rubber actually sucks inwards (collapses). Starving the engine
