New to ClioSport & looking for a Clio Sport!

Hi all, I've been lurking on here for a while but until now, haven't had the funds to get myself a Clio, due to a BMW E30 318is (now sold) and my Audi S2 coupe fast road / track car. I used to work with JR many moons ago and he pointed me in the direction of the forum to get advice and look for some properly looked after machinery

Anyway, I sold my IS today and now I've stopped feeling sorry for myself, I am now looking for my next car. The No.1 contender was a 172 but it now looks as though I can stretch to an early 182 as well, ideally with the cup chassis, if not both cup packs. Budget is £3.5k max and I'm after a tidy, average mileage car that's pretty standard, to keep the insurance on the sensible side - I've got the 300bhp Audi for sheer speed and brutality. The car will be used everyday and for longer trips here and there, so OEM noise level exhaust is a must, although some proper intake noise has always been a feature of my cars over the years. I'm not sure on a cup variant, as I'll be using it for motorway journeys more than B roads.

I'm in North Bristol and don't really want to travel half way across the country, so if anyone knows of some local cars that might fit my criteria, I'd be very appreciative to have a heads up.

There are 2 blue 182s, in the local area, on PH for £3k5 and a silver one a little further away for £3k7.

Finally got one. It's a 2003 ph2 172 with a few tasty bits on it. Just taken it for a 200 mile round trip to the Midlands and it was great fun, despite the weather. A few bits and bobs to sort out but the car is very clean and has been looked after to a good standard. I'm looking forward to adding the last 1% to it
