new to ClioSport.net - UK Calibration Engineer

  Clio 182
Hi Cliosport.net!

I'm Daniel, I'm a calibration engineer by trade [engine tuner] who specialises mainly in Porsche and Nissan GTRs but started in motorsport tuning single seaters and rally cars.

I've just purchased a Clio 182 to use over the coming winter as my transport when I'm in the UK, I'll be doing all the mechanical work on it myself and will write some "how to/DIY" guides - hopefully you'll find it all helpful and offer some advice back!

I look forward to meeting you all and seeing what this community has to offer,

Daniel

Sounds ace! Get your project thread up asap, love a good read of a new thread. Someone might know the car too which is always nice.

I'll get a project thread up over the coming weekend, I'll be doing the belts, variator and some brake stuff this week on the car ready for winter.
Thanks for the warm welcome!

  A special one.
Its called a Dephaser mate, not a variator.

Oh you will need all 3 locking tools to do the belts in the correct way (sorry I'd you already knew this)

Welcome btw. [emoji2]

Hello again Daniel, I'm a Daniel too! Haha. ;) So where abouts are you based then? I'm guessing you have the gear to be able to map the Clios too then? If so I might have to hire your services to make sure I'm getting the best out of mine if you're near by?

I'm based near Gatwick but travel all over the UK with work. I currently don't have the software to enable mapping of the Clio ECU - my work is mainly motorsport based on standalone ECUs, although I do map the stock ECU's on Porsche, Nissan and the GT86/BRZ. I'll be looking at putting a decent standalone on my car and will no-doubt show the progress on my build thread in the coming months.
I'll hopefully give the car a good wash over the weekend and get some decent photo's up then!
