New(to me) kangoo 1.9 D

Hi folks,

just bought a 1998 kangoo van 1.9 non turbo.... For €150 last night
my first diesel and van
(55bhp iirc)

I took off the airbox to see was the inlet all crap and it was from the egr!
so can I blank it without any warnings?
the car is on 191,000

Would I need to cut the pipe off and get it welded or??
