New to this board - need some advice

Hi all,

Im new to this board, but since im looking to get a 182 in a few months I thought id register now. I currently drive a Fiesta Zetec-S - good car, just a little too much like a "warm" hatch for my liking and its due for a replacement.

My questions are: how many of you bought your 182 from a dealer and what did you negotiate on price? Im looking at getting one from Motorpoint (£11699) because the price is fantastic, but it doesnt have the cup suspension pack. I spoke to a Renault dealer and they said they cant match the price (fair enough) but I said "well, id prefer to have the cup suspension, so make me a good offer and ill consider it". I want to go armed with figures, so let me know what you paid, brand new for your 182.

Additionally, did anyone buy their 182 from Motorpoint? The bloke at Renault said "it doesnt come with a manufacturers warranty" to which i said "thats not what they told me!". Their website states a full 3 year manus warranty. Are there any other hidden charges from Motorpoint? Anyone who knows about em, id love to hear more.

id say the fella @ Renault was lying about the warranty

IIRC all the cars from such a date (some point in 2002 was it ?) all have 3 years warranty no matter where they came from...

i could of course be talking out of my ar$e myself though...lol !

It will have a manufacturers warranty, 3 years if it was originally registered in the EU, 2 years if elsewhere.

Youll get a lower resale value if you buy from Motorpoint - keep trying your dealer. I did this last month with my dealer - I waved a quote from a broker at them and by discounting the new car and offering me a better p/x they came close enough for me to give them the order.

Mine wasnt a 182, but the principle should be the same.

I used to have a Zetec-S, fantastic car but like you say it needs a little more power.

Might be better off ordering it now mate.

Unless you find out at a car supermarket you can expect 10+ weeks waiting for delivery.

I had to wait 13 weeks for mine.
