Hi guys just purchased a 54 plate 182 with 57000 miles on the clock just wondering when the timing belt/water pump needs changed cheers and so happy to be apart of this site I have wanted a 182 since I was 15 am now living the dream

timing belt is every 5 year or 72k bud

water pump doesn't have a set time frame i maybe wrong.

Your belts are well over due for changing, if they have never been done, and if you're not sure if they have, then they haven't. Get it booked in with a specialist off of here is the standard advice.

Thanks guys and I brought it with money I found a garage close too me that does them so gawna take it down to him too see if he can check the guy that had it before me looked after it really well do hoping he's changed it and thanks very much for the information my friend is apart of the st owners club and he said for me to join this because of this great service ha cheers guys I'll let u know what the garage says and does anyone know how much it will cost just incase am getting ripped off ?

Found out that the timing belt needs done and got told 200 for the lot so not to bad I have 500 in my head

Have a search on here regarding timing belt prices. You're going to get a barrage of comments about a £200 job not being up to standard! (And they are right!)

£200 sounds too cheap. I'd be wary of any garage that said they could do it for £200.

Went to a garage today and they said 400 so might just go with that by needs to be in two weeks time as the guy that does it is away on holiday till the then by thanks for the advice guys

What are you getting done for £400 are you supplying parts or are they?
