yeh from currys went in and tried to get them to do the web price they have for the screen and they wouldnt as it was a web only deal... so in the end they did the screen, stand and xbox 360 with test drive unlimited for £1250 which aint to bad i guess means i paid 50 quid for the stand and got the web price on the screen lol!

Lovely curtain where did you get them from.

my mum picked them lol :rasp:

oh and the most annoying thing was when we went to bring the tv home from the shop and the guy was like oh u cant lay it flat cos its a plasma... u need it standing, so had to get a m8 to loan me his van lol.... that was fun

Now you don't. I've had the parents plasma stored that was for ages without issue.

I'm after a similar deal I think - looking to spend similar money too!
Looks like a good setup!

i like it my mum was like i think its to big should of gone for a 37" but i refused lol, but now she loves it, tbh i felt a bit motion sick to begin with as its so big... but used to it now...

just need some more 360 games lol, and to get my naim av amp fixed then the tag's either side with the centre channel all hooked up... will look spank once its all done :)

i thought plasmas aren't as good as LCD? need regasing or something every few years?

Unfortunately this is true. If you were to watch the TV all day, every day, for 12-15 years it would stop working. :D I'd not worry about it.

There is no way to 're-gas' a plasma. If it goes it goes, you buy a new one.. fortunatly as stated the half-life of a plasma tv is about 10+ years.

Personally I prefer the vibrance and sharpness of LCD screens over the Plasma counterparts, but nice size all the same :)

I was just reading this on Wikipedia:

The display is brightest during its first 2000 hours. Thereafter, the display gradually dims. LCD backlights exhibit dimming as well, but they are replaceable. A plasma display cannot be recharged since the panel is a fixed pixel device with each pixel etched into the glass substrate. However, as the phosphors in a modern panel have a 60,000 hour half-life, most users will never see a plasma reach the end of its life.

60,000 hours is some serious time, and that's it's half life!

i own a sony bravia 42 inch lcd and the 360 looks amazing, normal sky doesnt look that good tho, its ok from far back, i guess i gotta upgrade to sky hd.
