New water pump - gasket only or add sealant?

When fitting a new water pump, I presume it will come with some type of gasket.

Once the area is clean and the water pump is ready to go on... Do I use the gasket only dry, or do I add a smidge of sealant to each side?

Yeah the pump comes with a paper / card type gasket.

I used Loctite sealant both sides of the gasket but not sure what number without looking.

I used a bit of sealant just to hold the gasket in place while i was fitting it.

The Renault gasket is quite thick so should seal fine.

Ok Ive got some loctite gasket sealant will use a smear of it.

Genuine - no sealant.
Non genuine - sealant.
