G guysy Car BG 182 Jul 22, 2013 #1 When fitting a new water pump, I presume it will come with some type of gasket. Once the area is clean and the water pump is ready to go on... Do I use the gasket only dry, or do I add a smidge of sealant to each side?

A Andyman Car Ph1 Jul 22, 2013 #2 Yeah the pump comes with a paper / card type gasket. I used Loctite sealant both sides of the gasket but not sure what number without looking.

M Mr R. Car A special one. Jul 22, 2013 #3 I used a bit of sealant just to hold the gasket in place while i was fitting it. The Renault gasket is quite thick so should seal fine.
