Newb aux belt question

Getting my 182 on friday

It's a march 05 plate, so 3 years and abit old, is the aux belt 5 years or 36k?

As i was under the impression it's 3 years or 36k?

I thought it was three or 36k tbh. I may be wrong though.

My bf's Cup was sold at 16k in March with the warranty just running out. IN May the aux belt snapped and took out the cambelt resulting in a bunch of bent valves. The new owner is currently argueing with Reno to get repairs done free or reduced price. He's not a happy bunny.

Surely that must be allmost unheard off to happen? It's still under 18k.

You dont say how old it is. i have heard of them snap before the 5 years. normally due to something else failing though

The warranty ran out in March so that made it 3 years old then. Perhaps they should be changed once a year at mot time, just to be on safe side. lol

I dont think most people would want to pay £280 every year for there aux belt to be done. renault customer services will pay i should emagaion
