got a 3g iphone on monday.

When playing a vid on youtube or a vidcast how do i stop/pause playback? I'm tapping the screen like a mofo to get the options back on screen, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't....

And when playing a podcast how do I see how many minutes are remaining/where I'm upto....
