My Step-dad and I bought this a couple of weeks ago for some cheap track fun

Spec:
Ph1 172 113k miles
Well looked after and serviced
AC
Full leather interior
Some after market angel eye style headlights (which I quite like)
Alpine HU
Parrot Bluetooth kit
RS Mats
Blah blah blah blah...........

Plans:
Buy some Bucket seats
Strip interior and sell all the leather on (its spotless)
Remove HU
Remove Parrot kit
Maybe Lower
Maybe a whiteline ARB
Full Service
Sticky tyres
Repaint the wheels
make sure exhaust is attached as I think the rear 2 mounts are a bit bodged.
and enjoy.

First track daycompleted on the 24th November at Llandow.

Car is inteded as some cheap track fun as we have both had expensive track toys that were never really used properly and both now own expsensive to repair dailys so thought a 172 would would tick all the fun boxes.

Rain didnt stop all day but that just added to the excitement.
Managed 4 sessions each in the Clio and even fixed a buggered clutch pedal component.
Here is some crappy iPhone pics as I didnt bother taking my DSLR as it was always going to be wet and and wanted to drive rather than shoot.

Into the bus stop

The offending clutch part, the rose joint part. Need to order a new one or modify this one to stop it from being able to pop off.
The clutch pedal hit the floor on a down change coming in to the bus stop. At first we suspected a knackered cable but with the bonnet up the cable was intact so then suspected the clutch itself, but instead it was just this little thing.

Oh and the headlights need some serious adjusting as they are very very poorly adjusted and just light the top of the bumper and the fields on your left.

Hiya!! yes was good to have a chat dude!

When you planning on doing your next one? I'm aiming to do one in February, not sure where though.

Plans sounds similar to mine. Better tyres, lower, rear strut/ARB and bucket with harness. Felt the standard seat chucked me about a bit haha. Was a good day!

Not sure yet, need to make some progress on it now before booking another I think.
Maybe just maybe may do the 29th December Llandow one but not 100% sure yet.

I have heard that here (CS) are having a day in March at Llandow though.

I suspect that Combe will on the cards for April as well.

I'm in the same boat so looking forward to seeing what you do with yours! I'd definitely recommend getting a whiteline arb, should be able to get most of the parts your after 2nd hand off here if you get lucky!
