newbie few questions please help

hi all im jono. am new to the forum, recently got my hands on a mark 2 clio 1.2 with a full 172 conversion engine seats and dash just got a few questions
as far as i no the conversion has been done properly as everything looks in order as ive matched it up to a mates 172sport but some of the dash buttons dont work like wen u click the window wipers once it dusnt work only comes on wen its on the second one down sometimes while driving the dials flicker if say i have the rear heated window on or sometimes if i put the electric window up. it also has angle eye headlights fitted but wen u turn them on just sidelights the dipped beam comes on then wen u put it on dipped beam it just stays the same is this just the headlights wired up wrong also when you put main beam on the dials flicker slightly sorry to bore you all lol but just need sum advice

sounds like a bad earth or your battery or alternator is playing up under load. do a voltage test on the battery with the car running and nothing on it should be around 13-14V, then turn everything on and it should not drop under 12V most cars under full load will stay at just under 13V with everything on.

if you find it drops to 11v or lower id say you alternator its on its way out

is the rain sensor plugged in?

check the earls and battery for power also alternator

check the main headlight wiring sond like its at fault

i checked the voltage because thats what i thought my self but with the car off the battery is at 13.4 volts then with it started and under load its around 13 volts how could i check for a bad earth?
also sometimes when i floor it or if i brake hard there is the electrical fault light comes on if i stop turn the car off leave it for say 30 seconds turn it back on it goes off and its fine would i need to have this plugged in to a diagnostics machine to find out?

who's car was it and was he on the cliosport forum? If he has replaced the Dashboard stalks etc you will find the windscreen wipper no.1 setting is for automatic mode without a rain sensor it will not work. The head lights can be one of two things, my 2001 sport doesnt have duel xenons and the full beam is hallogen however if it came of a later model with bi-xenons then it will be expecting to move the bulb into a different posisition. It may be your UCH doesnt match your dashboard.

but the wiring behind it looks pretty shocking to be honest
really could do with taking it to a renault specialist get him to look at it all make sure everything is where it should be etc
