hello everyone im grant from eastbourne. ive bought a phase 1 clio 172 from a well known local garage last tuesday.
its a lovely car, only ever had 1 owner, 70000, the garage done a brand new mot for me, and a service. the hole car is standard.
on friday i was driving to my pet shop which is in town, i got to a set off traffic lights only about 1 minute away from the pet shop. it was baking hot so had the air con on full blast. i could here a funny ticking noise coming from the engine, i turned the air con off and it was quite load, as i went to pull away from the traffic lights the car cut out and wouldnt start.
i phoned the garage i bought it off and they got someone to pick the car up and i was told the cambelt had gone.
i wasnt happy at all as i only had the car 2 days lmao. the garage said they would fix the car free of charge lol.
so them trying to save 500 pounds for a new cambelt now is going to cost them quite a bit more.
not a great start to my clio experience. ill get some pictures up when i get it back.
